Chocolate Cake with Ganache

A rich and moist chocolate cake with dreamy ganache can be made in your oven or air fryer.

Ingredients:

Cake:

  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flout
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt 
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup whole milk 
  • 1/3 cup canola oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup hot coffee

Ganache:

  • 1 Cup semi sweet or dark chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup 35% Whipping cream
  • 1 tbsp butter 

Garnish:

  • 1 cup sliced strawberries or any fruit such as blueberries, raspberries, etc.

Instructions:

  1. Greece an 8" x 8" cake pan and line with parchment paper.
  2. in a large bowl, whisk together the first 6 dry ingredients.
  3. add egg, milk, oil, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.
  4. Slowly stir in the hot coffee.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan.
  6. Bake. If using the air fryer, preheat to 320°F and bake for 28 to 35 minutes.       If using the oven, preheat to 350°F and bake for 30 to 38 minutes.
  7. Check with a toothpick. It should come out with a few moist crumbs, but no wet batter.
  8. Let the cake cool in the pan for about 20 minutes, then remove and let cool completely.
  9. Make the ganache:     Place the chocolate chips in a heatproof bowl.
  10. Heat the cream until it just starts to simmer. Then pour it over the chocolate. Do not stir, just let sit for 2 minutes. Stir until smooth and completely blended, then stir in the butter.
  11. Allow the ganache to cool for 10 to 15 minutes until it thickens slightly.
  12. Poor the ganache over the cool cake and spread evenly.
  13. Let the ganache set for 30 minutes.
  14. Garnish with your fruit of choice.
