Saltine Chocolate Caramel Crackers

4 ingredients and 10 minutes is all you need to whip up a batch of these irresistible sweet treats.

Ingredients:

  • 36 saltine crackers or as needed to fill your baking sheet size (36 fits a 12" x 18" pan)
  • 1 cup unsalted butter 
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar 
  • 1 1/2 cups mini chocolate chips 
  • 1 cup chopped pecans, walnuts or almonds (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Lay parchment paper on a 12" x 18" baking sheet or whatever size you have. Layer the saltine crackers on top from edge to edge of the baking sheet and each individual cracker, leaving no space between the crackers.
  3. Bring the butter and brown sugar to a boil. Boil for three minutes.
  4. Immediately pour over the saltine crackers and spread evenly.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for five minutes.
  6. Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle the chocolate chips on top, followed by the nuts if using.
  7. Wait 2 to 3 minutes or until the chocolate chips have melted and then spread evenly with a spatula.
  8. Let it cool to room temperature then place in the refrigerator for one hour or until it hardens enough to break up the crackers from each other.
