A sweet and crunchy treat for snacking or gifting.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 egg white
- 1 tbsp water
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 lb (454g or 4 1/4 cups) pecan halves
Instructions:
- In a medium bowl, add the sugar, salt and cinnamon. Mix to combine.
- Preheat oven to 2500°F.
- In a larger bowl, add the egg white, water and vanilla extract. Whisk until frothy.
- Add the pecans to the egg white mixture. Stir until all pecans are moistened.
- Add the cinnamon sugar mixture. Mix thoroughly.
- Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper and add the pecans. Spread the pecans to a single layer.
- Bake for 1 hour, tossing the pecans every 15 minutes.
